My Motivation
I started teaching fitness in 2001 because I loved the gym and needed a job.
I never could have imagined that 25 years later, I would still be teaching, still learning, still building, and still believing so deeply in the power of movement.
Somewhere along the way, fitness became more than a job.
It became my sanctuary.
It became my community.
It became my life's work.
Movement changes the way we feel
I have always believed that exercise is about so much more than the physical benefits. Yes, we get stronger. We build muscle. We improve our health and our ability to move through life. But that's only part of the story.
It changes our energy. It changes our state of mind. It gives us confidence, connection, strength and a sense of accomplishment. It gives us a place to show up for ourselves, even on the days when everything else feels hard.
Sometimes the reason we START exercising is not the reason we KEEP exercising.
We might start because we want to lose weight, change our body, get stronger or reach a goal. But we keep coming back because of how we feel when we leave.
We keep coming back because we feel stronger.
Because our head feels clearer.
Because we have more energy.
Because we feel capable.
Because we found our people.
Because, for an hour, we get to focus on ourselves.
That's what fitness has given me for more than two decades. And it's what I want to give to every person who walks through our doors.
